Through creating a safe space to have insightful conversations, and real-life stories, the Podcast, "We need more of this, with Scott Rado" delves into the importance of human connection in today's fast-paced world, and learn to understand the importance of making connections to cultivate deeper, more fulfilling relationships.

Mission

My podcast is dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming space where every voice can be heard. In a world that moves fast and often feels disconnected, I explore the power of genuine human connection—one honest conversation at a time.

Purpose

To foster understanding, empathy, and meaningful dialogue that reminds us we’re not alone.  By highlighting diverse perspectives and authentic experiences, I aim to strengthen the human bond and inspire listeners to slow down, listen deeply, and connect more intentionally in their own lives.

Impact

I hope the impact of my podcast will foster a greater sense of belonging, reduce feelings of isolation, and encourage deeper relationships both on and off the air.  By amplifying diverse voices and promoting thoughtful connection, the podcast can inspire listeners to be more open, compassionate, and intentional in their daily lives—ultimately contributing to a more empathetic and connected society.

My Story

A little bit about me, up until 2018 I was in the broadcasting industry for almost 24 years here in New Zealand, working for music brands and talk stations, NewstalkZB and Radio Sport, that’s where my passion for listening, hearing and telling people's stories really was ignited.

In more recent times I’ve been working in the education sector learning and studying neuroscience and trauma informed practices through co-regulation with children and their families using sport as a conduit to safety and communication, through this work I found my passion to connect and hear people's stories at the same time allowing them to feel comfortable to be themselves in a safe environment, I found my skills of listening and hearing people were being utilised in a more human way, right in front of people, connecting.

I live in the top of the South Island of New Zealand with my beautiful wife and our two Golden Retriever's.   My thought process has always been that everybody has stories in them that people want to hear (whether they believe it or not).  I call them stories, but in reality they're your life experiences, life experiences that have shaped you and those around you, everybody should have a voice and that's why my ethos (not just with children I work with with but adults too), is I want to be the person that sees, hears and listens while holding a safe space and place, something/someone I wished I had when I was a kid and indeed as an adult ,up until I met my wife when she made me feel heard, safe and valued, everybody deserves that. Everybody.
